Piupiu Wiha - In her honour
Piupiu Wiha was my Great-Great-Great Grandmother. She was the second daughter of Wiha Whatakaraka of Ngati Rangitengaue and his wife Pea Ngataierua of Ngati Tu and Ngati Maru. This blog is named in her honour. Piupiu married Te Kahotuanui of Ngati Ruru, their eldest child was a daughter, Te Hauwhakaheke Te Kaho, also known as Te Kou. Te Hauwhakaheke married Teika Te Whitiki and their eldest child was Tamatea Teika, my Great Grandfather. I'll keep adding things to this post as I think of them. For now, it is enough to say, that she is my Kui and she is Kui to many others as well. This blog takes its name from her, Piupiu Wiha. Mauri ora 💛
